    2007 + truck and 4l80e..

is it possible to have a 4l80e swap done in a newer 2007 model pickup and newer.... i know the tranny fitment is not an issue, but can it actually be done?? segment swap thru HP Tuners?

i "heard only" of a guy that had done an 09 with a 4l80 but i have not seen it so dont know if its all that true...

i think they had said that "someone" in the dealer had done a reflash on it with a vin # of a truck that came with a 80e. would that be possible..

i just dont see that happening but would like for it to be, that way we can do some higher hp trucks to an 80e swap like the classic 07 and older ones..

    Thanks again

I have one here now that is an 09 gmc sierra but it came from the factory with 4speed auto. It will be hard on a truck with a 6 speed auto for sure. 440lsx with 4l80

what type of segment swap had to be done to it, to make it work?? ....i have a customers 07 tahoe with a 408 and a vts blower making 760 rwhp and 850+ rwtq...but the 4l70 just does'nt want to stay together.....so an 80e would be perfect for it... the truck is just to heavy but damm fun to drive..

yes but even if u do the wiring, how are u going to do a segment swap like the older ones...pre 07 's are easy...but since these new ones dont come with a 4l80 so what segment swap would have to be done?

update...there is acctually a new model vehicle that actually came with a 4l80e...

i pulled up the tcm diagrams for both and yes, same procedure as older ones ....i.e. run input speed sensor from tranny to tcm and repin the conector like before and install the new tcm and read it with hp tuners then save it as a new file before u can upload it back again...

and there u go 4l80e swap on a newer 07 up truck/suv that came with 4l60-70 in the first place...

yes but what i was having trouble was that i did not know that there was actually a truck that came with a 4l80e ...only 1 model came with it..finding it was the problem...and the tcm has already a 4l80 program in it...all the rest either come with 4l60e or 6l80e
