Unable to open Editor or Scanner

Windows xp home sp3. Was working fine on this desktop until it got a virus, had to format drive & start from scratch. I've downloaded from cd & website (both run & save to desktop). When I try to open either editor or scanner, I get the hour glass for a couple seconds & thats it-nothing more. I have .net framework 3.5. Is there anything else I need to have other than that? I was able to download drivers, they show up in device manager properly.

Did you install our software? Did you install net framework 2.0?

anti virus issue could cause issues as well
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I've installed HPT both from the website & from the cd. I have all firewalls & antivirus shut off. It works fine on my laptop, I just can't get it to open on my desktop. I did notice there is no "settings" folder in C:\documents and settings\mydocuments\hp tuners, like there is on my laptop.

I would try installing a second time and use the repair install if you get that option.

CCleaner didn't help. Uninstalled HPT, ran cleaner, installed HPT, still doesn't work.

Not sure then, I would try a fresh install of windows as theres no reason it shouldn't work fine.
