2009 4.8 GMC truck tuning issues...

I was attempting to tune a 2009 GMC truck with the 4.8L V8 and when I was trying to read the ECM it showed that is was a V6 and failed to read !
Anyone know why this would happen.
I checked all my connections and tried to get it to read like times but it just would not read the ECM. Why would it show up as a V6?
I have tuned sevrel turcks but this is my first 09, am I missing something???

If it is a brand new truck and your first 09 you might need the 2.23 latest beta to read it and modified it.

yes you need the beta i tuned a truck wile ago and it was 2009 and i couldnt read it with 2.22 you have to have the 2.23 beta .
just email support .

Had the same problem! Mine was reading it was a 1999 Tahoe, the vin was right but it said 1999 Tahoe.
Would not read with 2.22 had to email Bill to send me 2.23

Just finshed tuning my 09 4.8 30 minutes ago!

How did it turn out, can you tell a difference? I had an 08 HHR SS which I tuned, with the help of a lot of others on here.

Just wondering if it is worth tuning or not, and do you have any thing else done to it.

I have magnaflow muffler and 4.11 gears. I just did the common stuff like the High octane table on the low octane table. Remove TM ( I think I did). and changed the gear ratio and tire size. Im still learning and have not really messed with anything else. The TM removal spark table I definatly felt a difference, it actually feels like my foot is connected tot he throttle.
