Just curious. Seems like that would be easier. I didn't know if there was a feature or something that this software has that HPT does not have

I think people use this that want all the configurability. Like letting it re-define the boundaries, I don't think HPT does that. Also the level of precision can be tweeked in this vs. static in HPT. Its all just user preference in the end

Gotcha. I do like how it adjusts the boundaries for you to get a better fit

Is there still a way to rotate the axis so the ve table matches the one in HP exactly? I honestly miss being able to correctly modify the borders and map points like the bluecat program did. Thanks for updating this....

Your welcome. Yes you can flip the axis, open the "Table_Dim.txt" file and flip the 2 lines below the name of the format you are using

I'm apparently doing something wrong here. I tried to save it and save as every way that I know how, but every time I close the Table_Dim.txt file, it reverts right back to what it was... I guess it's not editable?

Next question.... You seem to know the HP program really well. Is it possible for you to make a tool that would change "background" tables that HP's not wanting to mess with right now? Baro update just to name one? You can PM on this if you wish.

    Thanks Again,
    Greg

Lol, I screwed u up. I forgot about the leading character on the line with the format name, it is a capital "N" or an "I". Changing it to the opposite (N to and I, I to an N) will flip it for you. Which format are you using? I might have to make an update for the Gen 5 one to work properly. And no I cannot change the "background" tables

Is there any reason why the blue cat Ve surface looks different to the hpt Ve surface.

They will look identical if your axis are identical between HPT and this.

OK, I changed the I to an N in the file... This did get the rpm to go across the top of the VE table like it does in HP, but the map/baro pressure ratio changed to "0's" and "1's"? I copied the table from the file and pasted into the HP table and it wasn't "completely" different, but especially up in the higher rpms and load areas it was way under what it should have been. I hope that makes sense - not the best at explaining things???? This was a gen 5 table. Haven't tried any of the others yet.

I figured you were trying to use Gen 5, ya thats going to need a program update since I had to do special things to get that working on the other axis, I will need to do more edits to make it work on the other.

    Oh, OK

Then probably just something trivial, but how to you change the "bar" setup? Not as straight forward as the original with having the simple click on tabs, but does a lot more, so I guess I'll just have to "learn"

It will require hand modification of the units in the axis, but damn near spot on to what HP pulls up in their editor, plus this one actually correctly changes the boundaries... At least this is what I observed while playing with the gen5 version... Very Nice. Thank You....

im using version 5.0.5908 with my l76 holden and when i go to generate equations it just comes up with "unhandled exception has occurred in your application"

where am i going wrong here?

  17. #317
does hpt verson 2.24 not work with version 5 of eq to ve?

  18. #318
Ive noticed that it the help button it says that you need to " in order to copy/ send the ve table to hptuner you must have ve LoAltd table open in a temporary ls3 file.

what is a temporary ls3 file?

Does it happen immediately when you click "Generate"? If so it sounds like you didnt install the C++ runtime. It works for me in 2.24, 2.25 and 3.0.

You want to have a temporary file open because it is going to copy and paste things in and out of that file and you do not want to accidentally leave those values in the tune. So the temporary file is just some file you do not care about and will never flash to the car.
