Cammed LS7, no more timing spikes - 2 questions though

Cam might not be as big as the ones some of you have, but decent enough at 23x/24x 114lsa, and 10degrees of overlap.

Managed to completely get rid of the timing spikes, HOWEVER car still surges at different RPMs, even with the spark advance as smooth as it could be on scanner, the tests were done by putting the car in cruise control at different engine speeds, usually in 5th, 6th gear.

note: RPM fluctuation - even minor vehicle speed fluctuations (at constant cruise control) are noticeable in scanner, however no timing fluctuations AT ALL. I dont know if thats a good or bad thing though, is the surging im left with a mechanical aspect of the cam or what?

I could use some ideas however on the fact that:

1- Car bucks like anything during normal take off, hoping to get some suggestions on taming that perhaps, anyone?

2- Also, while the car idles relatively good, theres alot of action going on from the idle underspeed/overspeed as evident in the timing spikes at idle. I know this is what its made to do, but should I turn adaptive spark off and try getting the idle as good as possible using the AFM table, THEN enable adaptive spark or whats the procedure?

You can find my latest file here:

Remove timing from low rpm, higher cylinder load cells. This smoothed out my stoplight take-off.

I can't view your file to see how your timing map looks right now, but I might check it out later.

It's normal for the adaptive spark to be all over. It does that on a stock cam, too... then again, I can't see the scanner output.

Some of that surging will never go away.

whatever i did on this tune seemed to work fine, other than the fact that deceleration popping seemed to increase until DFCO kicked in lol.

I dialed in the HO tables, and used a divider of say 1.4 to get a coastdown table, and then a 1.2 from coastdown to base. Gives all tables the same SHAPE looking at it from the 3d graph, and this completely eliminated the timing spikes, and the car drives fine, except for the take off issue, I think its switching from the HO to idle base table during take off, might need some work on the sub 1000rpm range in the HO table, and over 1000rpms range in the base spark table to get them as close as possible and eliminate this issue for good.

You should have my file. Compare my timing tables... I have zero take-off problems.
