Yesterday, I was trying to do some scans on my 2005 Corvette and got the "Cable Init" error message and it was not able to connect to the vehicle and to check the cable. I guess in trying to connect the cable to the OBDII port, I shorted a pin out because I immediately got a "Service active handling" message and the dash light for the anti-theft went on.

The MPVI box did not show the green light. I plugged it into one of my other vehicles, and it lit up. In searching this forum, it was suggestion to look for a blown Cig Lighter fuse located behind the carpet on the passengers foot well.

This fuse was fine but the fuse that was blow was the labeled "REAR FOG/ALDL/TOP SW 10A". This is located in the bottom center section of the fuse panel. I replaced that and solved my problem. There was a thread saying to look for a fuse labeled ALDL.

Just thought I would post that its not always the Cig Lighter fuse .... or at least not on my 2005 Corvette.
