hey guys been having lots of issues with my lsj instead of writing like 20 pages worth of crap, could one of the lsj guys on here look over my datlog and tell me if anything stands out, this is just a around the block drive will be logging more l8r.
ok so some more background, my car is stock except for glasspack/flowmaster 40 series and a aem dry flow filter...
has factory tune w/ update to fix idle flux.
Here is another data log of my nice long trip to east tx today.
I think it would help if we could get your .cfg file as well. Also is there something specific that your wondering about, an issue with your car; or just a general look over of your logs?
ok so im 100% new to this...
how do i get the config file?
Yeah my car sucks...lol
car hesitates when boosting kicks in kicks out and so on.. also see some bleed off of boost depending on rpm.
feel like i get fuel cut allot when just driving around.
It feels like it has about half the power it should...
so yeah a look over the logs to see if there are any indications of
an issue would be much appreciated
yeah, i haven't done anything but data log yet, will do that shortly..
from my understanding is all they are doing is raising the idle rpm so the computer doesn't do it's "rpm" hunt that it does...is a common issue to many of the ss/sc's
is it normal when u download ur vcm for the cars dic to display power steering and low fuel?
i dunno was odd...just beeped and popped both of those up when i was downloading the vcm then after all was done and i shut off the ignition and turned it back on it was gone.
Yeah thats normal, and from what I can tell the update did raise your idle from 750 to 850. PE enrich was also bumped to 91% throttle and a later rpm.
When was the last time your car ran right?
Considering this is a stock tune, I'd be inclined to explore the hardware aspect of things before tweaking anything. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter, etc?
car hasn't run right for about 4 months really...took it to gm for a diag and all they did was update the rpm...said they couldn't reproduce the other stuff...but im sure thats because they didn't drive it anywhere..
i have replaced
fuel filter, plugs, air filter, alternator, tb gasket, couple of vac hoses, evap purge silinoid watchamacallit... boost controller silinoid..gas cap..
all within the last 12k
it also starts hard at times and soft at times..
every time i turn the ignition u can hear the fuel line pressurize...
which is why i thought maybe fuel cut? but i dunno because i can't read much into these logs yet.
also most cobalts have that troll in the trunk sound which has to do with the fuel pump or the evap can, it makes a knocking sound every now and then...mine stopped doing that.
i think the majority of my issues happened when my alternator fried..
i ran it with the alternator kicking in and out on it for a bit before it finally died.
i replaced it and at the same time replaced the tensioner pulley and the tensioner. i also had to take off the ss/sc, i can say that a few weeks ago i took it back off and cleaned around the gasket areas and put it back on, that seemed to help the boost.
also ive replaced the h/e pump.
ive been wondering if it's electrical.....or if maybe my o2 sensor is bad or something i dunno, i was hoping getting this and doing some logging could help figure out what the problem is.
or i thought maybe the maf...or map...
i did the unplug the maf test it first wanted to kill the car gave it a little rev then it was fine..slower throttle response even after the mil set which took 10min to do so..but after that it idled about the same...
i thought with hptuners u could see iat2's? but i only see iat
and from the logs it doesn't look like i am getting any knock at all?
i dunno cause i never did see the graph for knock move any or was it not even getting a reading for it?
before i got this ppl were saying it might be pulling timing...is that the case in the logs?
like i said im absolutely new to this and not much of an idea as to what i am looking at yet.
Hmm can't tell what is wrong, but I can at least corroborate the fact that I can't see your IAT2s either.
In FACT, there is a lot of screwy stuff going on here. Have you ever used this HPT with another car? How did you create these logs; using the record button on the interface, or with a laptop?
The kind of stuff I'm noticing is that instead of ETC%, you have TPS%, and you are showing two (readable/highlighted red) banks of injectors.
If I were you I'd be taking it back to the dealer OR simply flashing a stock 06 cobalt ss tune to the car using a file from the tune repository via write entire.
nope just got hptuners yesterday and i am logging it to a laptop.
i just fire up vcm scanner and hit connect then start scanning..
haven't changed a single thing from the default setup.
mind u i still don't know what half of this stuff means stb1 stb2 ltb2
i am guessing long term and short term fuel trims..
Here is a list of the available (highlighted) sensors in HPT from your log vs the ones from one of my logs:

Just so I dont think I'm going crazy, could you please load up the attached config and log again?
ok this is before the car was really warmed up i could just take it right down the road and back and the sp limit is like 20 lol..with cars on both sides so take it for what it's worth, tomorrow if i go into work i will log it then also.
The O2 will read like that because it can only essentially read three things: LEANZOMG!!, Stoich, and RICHZOMG!!!
Hence the reason people install wideband O2 sensors.
As for the boost reading, thats because the boost PID needs to be set up in your HPT.
Its calculated off of your MAP sensor.
Since you have my config loaded, I should be able to walk you through adding it.
1.) Close any logs you have open
2.) Click on the Charts icon
3.) Right click anywhere in the lefthand column, and select "Chart Settings".
4.) Expand "Chart 2", click on Bst, then click on the blank field next to where it says "PID"
5.) When the PID list loads up, look toward the bottom, when it says "User Defined". Expand this, and double click on "Configure User Defined"
6.) From here, click on any <undefined> PID to create a new one.
7.) Here are the settings for my Bst PID:
Name: Boost (psi)
Abbrv: Bst
Sensor: (none)
Units: psi
Function (very bottom of window): ([SENS.30.kPa] - 100) / 6.894757
8.) Click on the arrow next to the floppy disk icon to Commit Changes.
9.) Close the "Configure User Defined" window.
10.) Set the Max and Min values for your new Bst PID, commit changes on the chart configuration window, and youre done!
