List with pics of all LSx based PCM/ECM

Hi guys,

Has there ever been a list compiled that listed what PCM/ECM came in what vehicle and the physical location in that vehicle?

I'm sure the HP Tuner owners would have the info somewhere and this would be a great sticky for future tuners.

I'm looking for PCM/ECM ID, Cal ID, vehicle platform, year and location in vehicle along with pics of the actual PCM/ECM. Maybe even include links of tuning docs for certain PCM/ECM.

Hope this becomes a reality...

Hi Bill,

We have such a detailed list but it won't be made public, it is a key piece of intellectual property for us that has taken over 5 years to develop. ie. it is the reason our software is able to auto detect controller type, compared to some other software out there that makes you identify the controller you are working with or use a specific software/hardware for a specific controller etc.

In GM V8's the basic types are:

97-98 LS1 type 1 (old style 98)
99-04 LS1 type 2 (common LS1 PCM, blue plug)
05+ LS1 type 3 (green plug)
05-06 LS2 (E40 ECM, three plugs)
06+ LS2 (E38, two plugs, E38 stamped on the case)
06+ LS2 (E67, three plugs, E67 stamped on the case)

05+ 4Lxxe TCM (T42)
06+ 6Lxxe TCM (T43, located inside the trans itself)

The location depends on the vehicle type and generally you need to look at a service manual for that.

Example -

- 2005-06 GTO e40
- 2006-08 C6 including Z06 e38

I know what 2004 and older have but the newer ones I'm not 100% sure.
