A/F ratio and blue thunder 107 race gas?

Have been running the qt mile all year and have a wideband. My logs show about 13.0 to 1 all the time the other day I put leaded 107 Blue Thunder for the first time and it fell to 12.5 or 12.4 is this normal should I adjust or wait and run the fuel out and see wht I get when it's back on 93 octane?

Leaded kills O2/wideband sensors, FYI. Also, you need to find the stoich value of that fuel.

And why are you running so lean (13.0) on a GTO anyway? I won't push them past 12.8 ever, and generally tune to 12.6. What type of spark are you running?

Could have something to do with the lack of Ethenol in the race fuel.

Beyond that, could it be possible there is not enough ignition lead to allow for complete burn?

Running a higher octane slows down the burn rate so generally you'd need to increase timing to compensate and if your not "timing limited" from making peak power on the 93, then you're just wasting your money.

So how long the O2/wideband will last if you are runing leaded fuel .
i had mine right now in my race car it looks good with no problem but i want to change it just to make sure every thing is ok with it .. and there was thread over hear they been talking about a sensor tha is better thean the BOSH O2/ wideband sensor.

you are thinking of the NTK sensor

My wideband reads 13 to 1 but it's a Innovate LC-1 and I've read in another thread it is off about 1/2 a point so it would be correct at 12.5 to 1 with the 93 octane and my timing is 25 degrees and when I ran with the race gas it went to 27 degrees. it also slowed down just a bit to 110.3 in the 1/4 and it was cooler out than when it ran 111.6 @ 13.02

I wouldn't go with leaded race fuel in your car. If you think you need race fuel, you can get 100 and 104 racing unleaded. As stated, unless you are seeing KR race fuel will not help.

I did some dyno testing on my stock Z06 with racing 104, and saw the car loose 1-2 RWHP switching from pump gas to 104 racing unleaded.

You only want enough octane to keep KR away based on your actual compression, DCR, etc... More octane is like more timing. More isn't always better. The motor needs what it needs...
