I can still feel the 4-5 shift sometimes at light throttle more than I remember. Not sure if its during cold starts or not yet.

6-5 I can feel, but I'm not worried about that because I believe 6th gear is technically OD, correct?

Cool thanks for the info. I don't think I'll be touching any TQM or pressures for gears 5 or 6.

Well not unless you travel German Autobahns regularly at 150mph .

If I set Upshift TQM to 'Disable' are all values ignored under Shift Torque Factor, Shift Torque Factor Adder, and Adder Modifier?

The short answer is yes. There are some small TQ Man applied through other parts of the tune but if the master is set to "Disable" then all then figures set in the Shift Torque Factor, Adders and Modifiers should be ignored.

What are the small TQM? I'm interested.

    K. I increased stall to the maximum, but I'm not worried about the rest that you mentioned at this time. Thanks.

    few questions

04blackgmc are you still running the tune PEchanges.hpt that you posted on the 17th? what do you like about it and what do you still want to change?

you have speed ctrl termination mode set to immediate, stock is torque ramp. i dont understand this one could you or someone else explain what this does and how did it change the way your shifts feel?

mine shifts great but sometimes i think it is a but harsh at some of the lower throttle areas. so i am looking at what other have done to get a feel for how my newest tune will look like. my old tune has stf changed with the factor adder and factor modifiers zeroed out. i like the idea of leaving the stf at 1 and changing the factor modifiers. this seems like the best solution. now i just need to get the pressures, shift initial, shift final, and shift times to a nice happy spot.

What effect did stall torque at max have?

I don't have it in front of me, but if I'm thinking of the correct table it basically allows you to brake torque and do a burnout. Stock limiter is 1500rpm.

As far as Speed Ctrl Termination I believe the stock setting makes the trans shift into neutral before shifting into a much lower gear, but only during a skip shift. So if you floor it and the trans goes from 6-3 it has to go through neutral first. The setting "Immediate" forces the trans to go straight to the gear.

I'm on the edge with this one because it sounds harsh, and I already disabled upshift/downshift TQM.

Disabling your Upshift/Downshift TM, along with the other TM settings your talking about is going to really decreased the life of the trans. These are apparently excellent, strong trans but I wonder if those comments are still valid if you remove the TM settings that are clearly designed to be there??

Well we should bring in other opinions on this one because I've heard from two sources I look to for tuning advice that these transmissions can take it.

    Anyone?

I've been looking at this tune (PEchanges.hpt) for a good hour in great detail and one thing sticks out like a sore thumb: 0.2002 downshift times. That just seems insanely quick.

I can understand the 0.2002 upshift times because of all the shift adders tables below that modify this value, but from what I can tell nothing in these TCM's adds to the downshift times.

    Does your 0.2002 downshift feel...safe?

Same. Did you set your Min Power Downshift values to .2500 as well or leave them stock?
