New hard drive, can't find interface

Upgraded my hard drive on my dell laptop. HPTuners is the only real program I have on it. Installed XP, all the original dell drivers back to original, updated software and installed HPT 2.22 and it will not see the interface. Can't pull the license for my truck. Tried it while connected on truck as well, no go, doesn't see the interface. Won't work any way I do it.

So did the repair part of the install program, no go. Tried other usb ports, no go. Re-installed old hard drive and everything works fine. Put new drive back in, still no go no matter how many times I reboot, remove and re-install HPT, the cables, etc. Even deleted HPT, then re-downloaded again in case it was corrupted, still no go, with restarts in between each step.

Finally reformatted entire drive, reinstalled XP, did the dell drivers etc, installed HPT 2.0 off original disc, still does not work. Device manager shows "other devices" and two HP Tuners MPVI with question marks. Does not show up under USB section.

I have put hours and hours into this and am at a loss for what to do next. saw the threads were one guy swapped laptops and one guy had missing drivers (only one was showing up under usb section of device manager). It appears I am missing something as well.

Please note I am not a computer retard. I have never had issues like this before. I just want it working again so any suggestions welcome, I don't want to be stuck with my old hard drive.

    Thanks

Uninstall these and then reinstall the ones listed on our installation page of the help file. Our software has nothing to do with our drivers so installing & uninstalling our software won't be of any help if you aren't installing the drivers properly.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
