    Vista Help Yep 64bit

I have been trying to get HPT to work on my vista laptop for about a month, been using my XP laptop in the mean time but it just crapped out. I have read and searched for endless hours and I cannot get anything to work. My drivers will not install, the 2.22 update will not install and neither will Netframe work. What do I have to do to get this to work...........

    Thanks

It will not let me uninstall my old drivers as well.

Exclamation 64 bit vista guys that have gotten the drivers to work come in!
I'm trying to create a sticky for those who have a 64 bit version of vista that are having problems installing the drivers.

Please let me know step by step of what worked for you.

Some of linked to this exe file http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM%202.04.06.exe and it seems to work for most but I would like a step by step of what you needed to do to get it to work correctly so transitiion is as easy as possible ie

    1. run exe file found here http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM%202.04.06.exe
    2. download drivers found here http://www.hptuners.com/pub/HPT_MPVI_Drivers.zip
    3. extract drivers to desktop
    4. connect interface to pc
    5. install drivers
    6. done. at this point everything should work flawlessly

from the sounds of it thats what should happen but seeing I don't have vista 64 I really need to confirm.

Secondly the F8 disable is it just this simple?

    1. Turn on pc & hit F8 several times until the advanced boot options menu appears as shown here http://www.hptuners.com/forum/attach...4&d=1190216052
    2. select disable driver signature enforcement
    3. continue to start pc
    4. download drivers found here http://www.hptuners.com/pub/HPT_MPVI_Drivers.zip
    5. extract drivers to desktop
    6. connect interface to pc
    7. install drivers
    8. done. at this point everything should work flawlessly

Thanks guys for all your help...this will definitely help alot of people as these 64 bit operating systems become more & more popular.

have you booted it using F8 and told it to disable driver signing? do that then plug in the scanner and delete the drivers as described and reinstall them afterwards. I was frustrated as well and that got mine working

You need to UNISTALL your existing software from the computer. Reinstall and use the F8 option mentioned above.

Once I get it to delete the old drivers how do I get it to reinstall the new ones? When I plug the scanner back in after doing so it automatically loads something not sure if its the new drivers or not.

    Another dirver-Vista problem

OK I have done the recommended steps to have Vista recognise the drivers but no joy. When I tell Vista to install the drivers on my desktop, Vista says there are NO drivers on my desktop and shuts down the USB port.

I am a bit confused about how to install the drivers after un-zipping them. There is no .exe or setup file in the zipped files.

Are there plans to get the drivers digitally signed by Microsoft to avoid this whole thing?
