    A4 Tcc Release

    How do I force the torque converter to unlock as soon as pressure is applied to the gas pedal? When cruising along in 4th I need to press the pedal half way to unlock it and most times it just down shifts. What I would like, is to have it unlock as soon as I move the pedal. Car is a 98 a4 vette and I am using HP Standard. Thanks, Larry

    Move the release speed closer to the apply speed.
    It can take a lot of time to get it where you want it, just keep raising the release speed until it does what you want it to. You may even need to raise the apply speed.

    Typically a 2 mph difference works well. To keep it from downshifting move the tcc release speed and 4-3 downshift further apart.

    It's going to take a few tries and test drives.
