    Twin Turbo Failure Diagnosis help

I have a forged twin turbo GTO that has self destructed 4 times now. Quick history. I was stationed in Tampa and knew a good engine builder so I pulled my motor out and took it to him. Thats where the problems started. Everytime after the break-in period I would start leaning on her and I'd wipe out my main bearings. I was having my car tuned by a reputable tuner in Tampa.

When I moved to NC they rebuilt my engine again (3rd time) I drove the car here took her to the track only to lose the mains yet again. I contacted a local race engine builder here and requested a failure diagnosis. He stated I had severe detonation. I can do anything on a car but tune one. I'm correcting that now. I would like to get your two cents on my tune. Info on the car.

2006 GTO 6.0 Ironblock with forged internals. 60 lb injectors, aeromotive A1000 fuel pump return style fuel system and APS twin turbo kit. The car put down 700 rwhp at 12 lbs of boost. I'm running a speed density tune.

Your time and two cents are greatly appreciated. Here's the tune.

This is the only log I have. Unfortunately I have the Autometer Nexus wideband and I cant hook it into my HP. I'm correcting that soon. Local friend that looked at my tune said the same thing and recommended I come here to get some of your input. Any idea why someone would tune a forced induction car this lean? Accidental? It was tuned on a dyno not real street tune to speak of.

do you have a LOG wiht a FULL WOT run? none of your runs in the log are 100 % full TH or 88% i should say...you only go to 88% for a sec....do you have like a 4th gear pull from 3500 RPM to red line? on the street?

    Not a load based dyno.

No I've been hesitant to do anything like that until we do a little more home work and a few adjustments. Not in a rush so its going to be a little slow going. Great seeing you here BTW

Rick, I think we'll fix your PE table tonight and then see how big your afr error % is. We at least need to get your PE to a safe place

I prefer to set the PE a little leaner (1.17) and use the BE table for the rest of the fueling (ramp up to 1.28)

Its got too much timing. Its not just fuel i would be working on. It needs an appropriate timing table to get fuelling setup right.

Update, while driving home the other day the car died. Troubleshooting it AngryGoat and I tracked it down to a dirty fuel filter. I had the fuel system installed by a shop. When they cut out and welded in the sump cleaning the mess was apparently not a priority. Metal shavings and such, I dipped the filter in fuel and only half would drain out. Awesome....

I installed a new filter and took her to the dyno. More to check the accuracy of my wideband. Once on the dyno we noticed the AF was acting correctly so we did a wideopen pull. My AF dipped to about 11.5-11.7 and stayed there. Did two additional runs to verify and it looks like this was an issue. Still working on getting the tune right. Those that took the time looked at my tune and offered their .02 cents I am grateful. Thanks alot for your help and time.

If it's not a load dyno, it doesn't matter what AFR you saw since it won't be the same in the real world... The dyno I use to tune is a DJ224. I do NOT tune turbo cars on it. They get tuned on the street and track, I don't care how crazy they are, that's the sure way to get them right.
