Soo i need to get a stock file from the repository use 2 more credits on it then change the VIN on it to her car. Then copy and paste what i need from her file to the new stock file.

Just wanna make sure i'm doing this right before i go off and use more of her credits.

I would use a TechII to flash the latest stock file, probably cheaper than using 2 credits on
an "unknown stock file" from the repository.

I don't have a tech 2 and she doesn't have 5 credits to get a stock file. I have a stock 98 file. Think you could change the vin for me?

The vin isn't stored in the flash in 97-98 LS1 pcm's so the vin actually needs to be changed in the pcm, not in the flash file.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

No, They are saying it is probably cheaper. It will cost ~$100 in HPT for the credits, GM usually charges around $75 IIRC. You should be able to change the VIN, but you must be connected to the PCM.

Its because that file has no serial number in it so theres nothing to lock onto for a single license so it gives you the option to do a year/model license.
