    Torque Management

    Hi

I have completed a search but didn't locate a direct answer to my question. I have an LS3 M6 and understand I can effectively disable the torque management. If TM is designed to accommodate auto transmissions what purpose does it serve on a manual? Also, how does it operate (ie retards timing) and what would be the expected difference when disabled?

    thanks

torque management on the later vehicle can either retard timing (fast), close the throttle (slower) or cut fuel to cylinders (rarely used).

it isn't used much on M6's becuase there's not much to protect, often its to prevent drivetrain clunking on tip-in or other on/off throttle driveability (M6 spark smoothing).

If you suspect torque management is active, you can log 4 PIDs in the scanner:
    - Spark TqMgt Type
    - ETC TqMgt Type
    - FuelCut TqMgt Type
    - ETC Source
