I have plenty of logs and the only drop in timing is on the line at launch and thats due to cal.air. For example, if i am stalling my car up to 1750rpms and while holding the pedal my cal.air reading is only say .24 well at .24cal.air my timing is at 33 degrees, well when i stab the gas pedal as the motor winds up its getting more cal.air and scrolling down the timing tables to say .68cal.air, well at cal.air of .68 my timing is setup different and is lower than at cal.air of .24.....Hope this makes sense, if not pm me anytime and i will try and explain better.
Yes, makes sense. Not sure why you are not getting good solid shifts however with TM disabled. But you have a loose converter and I do not.

For the launch lower timing you refer. You might try increasing those frames where the timing is lower at launch at the higher cyl. airmass and see if you get a quicker launch. I would think you would be fairly high already with a loose converter.

On a side note, a looser converter would help you! You have a fairly wide shift extension with that converter. I do realize street and strip is a compromise though.

Tony, have you spoken to COW Chuck of Westchester? He is a nice guy in person very helpful and he claims to be very good with the A6. He doesn't frequent this board much.

Still working on a 2008 Sierra 2500 HD with the 6L90E. The only changes to firm up the shifts that appear to work, is to reduce the shift times. Note that you can enter up to -32 sec. Start with zero sec shift times & also half the shift torque factor cold modifier table under torque management.

What about downshift times? Like for merging onto the freeway. It seems to take forever to downshift into the right gear...

I set my torque management to 40%. There are plenty of other changes I did but this is the main adjustment. If you still have a problem then there is something specific you'll need to work on for the 1-2 shift. Try this first. If you are past this and still have a problem, I'll try to help you out with my trans file. My G8 will rip second with stock tires at WOT. My be a little different with your 2.56's.

Here is trans tq factor too. Mine should be stock....

    Tony,

One other thing that will change the Shift FEEL is the Inertia Factor Profile. Be easy with those as it can really change the feel if you GTF* it.

Also you might want to change the MAX ADAPT VOLUME on the 2-3 shift to match the others.

Also, compare with the latest version of the A6 transmission tuning file (2009 Vette) and see what GM decided to alter/improve. None in the repository though...

Good one! Lots of changes in that tune.

Another very interesting tune would be the CTS-V 6L90E VCM file.

Anyone out there with one of those?
