    The Tuning School?

Not quite sure where to post this, so if this is the wrong place hopefully the mods will move it to the correct location.

Anyhows my question is have any of you attended "The Tuning School" http://thetuningschool.com/why.html?

I have read a couple books on tuning and a lot of info on this site and several others, also I have accumulated quite a collection of notes. I can get around HP tuners but would really like to learn how to tune correctly and proficiently.

I am curious what your guys thoughts were on this program, it's not cheap and would cost me a pretty penny to attend, although I have no problem investing in knowledge. I would like any to hear what was good and bad about the class and if you thought it was worth your time and money.
    Thanks.

+1 for this. I haven't yet sunk the money in to the course as of now, but I would like to hear some user feedback from those who have used it.

I have the learn at home course and its great material for the beginner...I definitely would like to hit one of the classes up, really just haven't had the time off to take.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I'm interested in this also. A friend from out of state bought the stuff and said that for most setups they recommend altering IFR and/or PE to achieve the A/F you're looking to achieve. I'd love to hear from others that have the book before I make a decision for myself.

Here is a thread from our last class in Tampa, several students replied with their experience of it.

Another, from the HP tuners forum: http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showpo...10&postcount=9

We also teach you how to use the VE and MAF, and are now including all of that in the beginners learn @ home. Originally we had planned to split it into three courses (beginners, intermediate and advanced) but recently decided to have just two (beginners and advanced); thus we now include more in the beginners. We also have free updates for a year for all customers, so everyone will get an update with the additional information.

    Thanks!

I attended the class in Dallas - WORTH EVERY PENNY... Bob was going to use my car for the class to tune on, but I blew up my motor 6 days before the class. Now that the car is rebuilt I use the tuning materials daily to tweak things. I've only got 111miles on the new motor, but the book and my class notes have come in very handy for setting idle, adjusting to the new injectors, and fixing startup issues. I cannot wait to start dyno and street tuning.

I really enjoyed the class because we could ask any question. The three instructors each have different tuning backgrounds and each one will give you a different view on the tuning world. When you put all three views together it makes understanding and learning so much easier.

I just wish Bob would hurry up and get the Level II class going.... (ha, now I have that posted on 3 different forums - pressure is on Bob!!!).....

OK, so does the HP Tuners program itself come with help files
like most computer software does to explain basic details
    about operating the program?

  17. #17
Yes, it has some information on various tables and such. You won't find the tuning process or how things should look in various applications though. That, along with the support is what we do.

OK, at $500 a pop I guess I need to decide between
the training and the HP Tuners software itself

Here's some picures of the class from Tampa, FL (January 17-18th). It was full and the class was fantastic! Three students got the chance to dyno tune their own cars (the entire class participated in tuning their cars). We had a killer Juiced GTO (700 RWTQ!!!!), a killer Corvette (stealth but over 600 RWHP), and a sweet turbo conversion on an old school silverado!

So, what is a "LS based vehicle" anyway?
Is this referring to OBDII or something?
