Re: Famoso 12/4/04 - Roll Call

I'll be there, I'm bringing my truck to make a pathetic attempt to stomp some Lightning a$$. I am also bringing along a couple friends, one with a truck and another with a (hopefully) 9 second 69 Camaro. We need to find at least 5 more people as the list only shows 50.

Re: Famoso 12/4/04 - Roll Call

    Well,
My friend is in the middle of a motor swap with his '94GT so hopefully sometime next week we'll know if he can make it or not.

I'm also going to see if I can get my dad to take his car down there (the Camaro).

    So that's a possible two.

    We'll see.

We are going ... hopefully making some (personal) record breaking passes. We met the absolute minimum that Famoso allows and we can go racing, extra people will be icing on the cake. Can wait to see what everyone will be running, then watch the videos at the sports bar.

Did we get the 55? I only see 50 on the website. Dave hasn't replied to any of my emails for the past couple weeks either.

Re: Famoso 12/4/04 - Roll Call

I'm only seeing 50 on the n2sracing.com site. But I did go over to the terminators site and they have 55. The last list they posted on their board has 51 - 55 Five 300ZX Twin Turbo's Nissan / Mark Leader on it. That guy has too much money if he has 5 300Z's!

Nevermind, I'm crackhead. The latest list on their board only has 54.

    corpsvette,

Look forward to meeting you. What's your name and what kind of car will be you in? I figure a vette? I'll have to keep a look out when I get out there.

Also, when is everybody showing up at the track and getting in town? I'm gonna drive down Friday morning with Steve (#32 on the list) and get situated in town. Will there be any events on Friday, like test and tune?

    I can't wait,

Nope, no test n tune. Don't think there is anything going on Friday night (related to this anyway). You guys will know me by my license plate (MGC CHKN) and there is only 1 other Silverado going to be there, so you have a 50/50 shot.

    Screamn03,

Number 27 on the list with an 04 spiral grey vert Vette, Jim Kay. Definitely look forward to meeting you. I said I would never race my car but I decided I had to do it at least once for the experience and so I could legally get my car into the triple digits (well maybe). I am pretty much a granny driver. Heck, I even have to borrow the neighbors motorcycle helmet. What do you mean by no test and tune. I was hoping I could use the new Hptuner along with you guy's experience to tune in between runs or does it mean something else. I figured this was my best opportunity to log WOT runs in different gears. Can you tell I am a newbie yet ;D Look forward to meeting you all. Until then,

    Hasta,

Re: Famoso 12/4/04 - Roll Call

You'll be able to use your HP Tuners at the track and log WOT runs. Test n tune is just what they call an open track day. Basically Saturday is an all day private test n tune.

We will be easy to spot ... one of three female drivers, the only 1998 Z28, HPTuners ad on our car. ;D Just look for the guy riding a little scooter tailing behind the car ... that will be me. So please try and not run me over before she makes her pass ... after is another deal. Looking forward to meeting everyone! We will probably get there in the morning, we are just 2-3 hours south anyway.

Re: Famoso 12/4/04 - Roll Call

I'm bringing the real fast car, the Cobra of corse :P. I signed up my friend today. Hopefully we'll have the motor done for his 94GT, if not then either him or my dad will bring out the SS. I need to get the exhaust on that thing if I'm gonna run it. Crap, I got way to much stuff to do between just these three cars in the next couple of weeks.

This is what's up with the Cobra:
    http://www.modularfords.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=18570
    http://www.modularfords.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=18572

    The 94GT is as follows:
Got the motor apart in it and #3 piston was broke and something beat the hell out of the combustion chamber. Have pistons of the way and it should be ready in time to get the car together and broke in before the race. The motor will look as follows:
-331 .040"Over Probe Pistons, Scat Rods and Crank
    -AFR 165s, Comp 224/232 5xx 112 Cam, Performer PRM Upper/Lower
-Bassani Equal Length Shorties, Bassani X, Borla XR1 mufflers
The car has a T-56 in it and a 8.8" 3.73 rear. Should run good once it's together.

    My dad's Camaro:
Need to at least get the headers on the car, Mac midlengths with O/R-Y and tune it with the new setup, I think I'm gonna keep the stock catback and just run a cutout, I hate the way LS1 f-bodies sound with exhaust, sound like diesel trucks (I going to get it now). Eventually we are going to do 2-1/2" duals out the back but we don't have the time right now.

Re: Famoso 12/4/04 - Roll Call

Whew, you are pretty serious about your cars Scream (aren't we all). THat car is putting down some awesome numbers. I can't wait to see it run. Despite owning a Vette, I am actually a give fan of the Mustang. I used to drive one in college. I can't wait to see the new one. It looks sharp IMO. I gave you a hard time about the SS because I used to have an 02 that I loved and wished i still had. I did my first scan last night in the Vette and have a million questions but will post appropriately. I really hope you and Magic_chicken can give me some pointers and get me around the software a little more in Famaso. Catcha later, gotta go log somemore before the ball and chain wakes up.
