    Also tuning my truck
    09 Silverado 4.8
    I have added 4.11 gears
I have removed all TM (i think) and have moved the high spark table to the low and smoothed out. I am still reading up on other things. So its a big learning curve.
The truck really does feel so much better now. I feel it is so much smoother.
Anyway lets try to make this a tips and tricks of what works and what doesn't, I know I need all the help I can get!!!!!

2008 Silverado extended cab and very short bed with L76 Vortec Max engine, 4L70E trans, 3.73 gears and 2wd Z71. I have the vararam intake and gained more than 20 rwhp MORE THAN the K&N 63 intake I had previously on it. I just have one question regarding my brothers 2005 reg cab short bed 4x4 electric fans LM7 5.3 truck. He's been asking me for the best cold air intake for it and I personally have no idea about the VR-6 from Vararam to whether or not it is great or not. I want to see what you guys with those trucks feel are the best intakes for it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    2004 chevy avalanche

Hi I have a turbocharger z71 chevy avalanche, stock 5.3 with a z06 cam & springs.I home built the rear mount set up with a t62 turbonetics turbo. It has 60lbs injectors. It made 483rwhp 516rwlbs torque. It weights 6000lbs,ran 13.42 at 105 spinning all 4 tires past the 60 ft mark ,in colorado at over 5000 ft .running 8psi . I replaced the the 4l60e with a 4l80e. After blowing up 6 build 4l60e and one stock 4l80e. I dont under stand how some of you are going into the 11"s with 4l60e . I had the last three build to support 600hp . tci front pump, beast sunshell,5 gear pinion, kevlar clutches, hardened input & output. The works.I got a 13.23 at 106 this last summer.

    88 Jeep Wrangler running a 2002 Silverado 5.3L

I have a 88 Jeep wrangler that I put a 5.3L / 4L60E / NP231. I had paid for a guy to tune it and I think he did a great job. But there are some things I want to change. Such as soon as you start the motor and put it in gear it wants to hard. I have gone to 1 Ton brakes to keep it down. (Yes the TCC voltage is being applied when I hit the brakes to tell the torque converter to release It ) just does not feel like it is. But it does scream when I get with it. I just have so much to learn.

I've been fumbling around with HPT for about a month now, but starting to get the hang of it. I can definitely notice an increase in drivability. So far I have VE, MAF and PE tuned and will be starting on spark/timing over the next few days. I hope to get it on a dyno next week and run stock vs a couple of different pe setups and to verify AFR.
This is my first performance upgrade purchase, and couldn't be happier...will definitely save on headaches/downtime for future upgrades.

Just recieved my HPTuner software. Wow is all I can say. I bought it because I am getting a misfire warning. I have been told it was due to the CAM I had put in it. Hopefully this will help me find out.

Hello New to Hp tuners with trucks.

    Used to Gto's

Anyway is there a program I can download and save somewhere to get me started with tuning my 05 silverado for MPG.

I want to lean it out, play with spark tables, and so on. Any recommendations or links to download a file would be great.

    2005 4.8 5 speed rcsb silverado.
headers, high flow cats, cat back, stock gears, 20 inch wheels, 2wd, cai, granatelli MAF sensor no screeens, NGKtr55IX plugs, msd wires.

I've had the Pro software for a few years now. Did a wee bit of tuning on my 99 Sierra. But the 08 V Max I just bought is making me wanna get rid of the other hot rods. I'm too poor to buy horsepower parts now, so I've decided to learn how to tune. Plus I've set myself a goal of keeping the truck faster than the 440 '70 Charger my buddy is putting together!

I've had the Pro VCM Suite for about 2 years. I still consider myself a newbie, just don't have alot of time to dive into it very deep, but I'm slowly getting there. I have a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab SLE 4WD with the 5.3 (LC9), 6L80E, and 3.42's, all stock as far as powertrain, just some suspension mods. Actually, I have just started tweaking on this truck, but I played with my G8 GT when I owned it last year. Future mods: catback, headers, Maggie....... well, maybe someday on that one!

Info for the truck guys is sparse, at least compared to what I was used to with the G8 community. But lotsa great info from the regular tuners here.

With so much advice here at this forum, you can't go wrong. It just takes some time to pick through the info.

South of the border 69 C-10

I also have a truck that I am tuning.
    It is a 1969 C-10 and I added a '06 4.8L and a '99 4L60E.
I have not yet started it but I might do that tomorrow, as soon as I finish the fuel system.
The engine will be left stock save for a free flowing exhaust and a performance/economy tune since it will be the truckshop driven on a daily basis.
I am very tempted to drop the cam I goy out of my LQ9, which is the same part number as the one GMPP uses in the 327/327.
But then again I want to keep this engine stock.
