2009 G8GT (2008's too) read issue?

I read my 2009 G8 GT for the first time today.

Everything read fine, saved the file, but then the car seemed like the TCM was not responding (stability was off, only had 1st gear, no selection indicator). The info center was beeping and displaying all kinds of abs/stability messages.

Re-Read it, didn't find the TCM.

I did get everything back ok, I re-read it, shut the car off, opened the door (to cut retained accessory power), waited 30 sec and restarted.

It looks like something wasn't set right at the end of the read. My 04 GTP used to freak out (lots of message on the info center regarding abs,stability etc) as well.

Anyone else see this (2008 or 2009)?

Yeah we've seen it on a few different models where you need to reset the offending module, in this case the TCM by disconnecting the battery temporarily as some modules don't like to be told to shut up during reads/writes.

BTW I've made a sticky regarding it so I can reference it in the future

This also happened when I first read my Bin. I waited 15 minutes and all was fine. I have since done a few writes and all is fine.

i made a thread about the same thing back when i got my car too. same thing happened to me. it only did it that one time tho....and i have read the pcm/tcm several time since...so that's good.

i had the the issue with the stab staying off but i would just read the car and walk away for a few mins the problem would go away..

BUT why are the files u read out always Lower? u flash a 3,428 into the car and u read a 3,4219 out...?

Quickest and fastest method is to pull the TCM fuse for about 10 seconds or so.
