AFR error % always around -120 something?
I just got my LC-1 hooked up and logging through my A/C pressure wire.
commanded is 14.7. actual afr 14.5-15.0 and my afr % error reads somewhere around -120%??
my function is:
100*((([PID.7101]/.625)+10.2) -[SENS.121])/[SENS.121]
i tried switching some things around but it still doesn't act right.
the sensor used for the custom pid is afr commanded, is that the problem?
(EDIT: this is the problem! the sensor should be AFR, not AFR Commanded)
anyone have any ideas?
thanks

That is the correct formula except maybe for the ".625" and 10.2 part. Did you change the AFR range using the programming tool for the LC-1? Out of the box LC-1's have a reading range from 7.xx to 23.xx.
Your .625 shoud be this formula = (VOLTAGE RANGE/DEVICE RANGE)
Your 10.2 sould be = (MINIMUM VALUE OF DEVICE READING)
Maybe you add the .2 for voltage drop but that is an aweful lot, mine drops .02 so it reads 4.98 when in open air.
In your config you need to add the "AC Pressure" and Command AFR to your table as well as your custom PID to make things work.

i figured out the problem was that the sensor for the custom pid of afr % error should be afr, not commanded afr.
it works now,
now i'm just having trouble getting the numbers to show up in my histograms after i'm done scanning.

If your saving it and then opening it later, you need to right click on the histogram and click load all data.

Okay i figured that out. thanks.
i got the data, filtered it to 50 count, and tried to copy it so i could
paste special into my VE table.
The histogram Won't give me the option to copy the data(copy isn't bold).
what the hell!

You have to highlight the rows and columns that you want to copy/paste before copying.

I did that, still didn't work.
i clicked the top left corner to highlight the entire table, then right clicked(copy still not available)
i tried only highlighting the cells with data
and nothing would let me use the copy function.

You might want to save the log, if you haven't, then close the program and re-open, then open the log and try again. I have never seen that in HP but have seen it in other .NET programs when memory is low. Try closing other programs if you have any other running.

still nothing, closed everything except, web browser. opened vcm scanner again and tried copy again.
still not working.
maybe i will have to multiply all the VE cells 1 at a time by hand!

That is bizzare, the last thing you could try is to uninstall the program and re-install with the latest from the software download page.

if i do that won't i have to reprogram all of my histograms/tables/funtions for my lc-1 and everything else?

Not if you save them, you could copy them to a safe location too just to make sure they don't get removed.

i might try to go log a new scan and then see if it will let me copy the histo.
if that doesn't work i will download the latest version, my current is 2.2
