2006 Z06 still having problems at WOT

Here is a breakdown of the log:

Frame 9595-9675 :WOT 1st gear (forgot to turn off T/C, oops!)
Frame 9810-9820: Hit rev limiter, 9820-9841 lifted for 2-3 shift. Notice TPS drops to 40% after hitting the rev limiter.

Frame 14702-14971: going to WOT 1st gear, lift to shift 1-2 and 2-3 did NOT bump the rev limiter, notice nice and clean.

Frame 15950-16028: 1st gear going to WOT. 16028 Powershift 1-2, bumped the rev limiter, never lifted, notice TPS drops to 40%, . 16072 2-3 shift, lifted.

So, it seems that if I hit the rev limiter, that is where the problem starts. If I stay in the throttle, the TPS drops to 40% and stays there.

    So what do you think?

In the Fuel Cutoff, Control Limits, ETC - set to Disabled and see if your ETC limit goes away.

If you are talking about Fuel control -> Control method -> ETC

    it is set to disabled.

Any other ideas? Maybe switchover delay?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Why is your max throttle position only 88% on a WOT run? Thats where I would start.

Only other table I saw that made me ??? was the Acceleration Based --> Accel Max tables were changed from stock for no apparent reason.

The fuel cutoffs & limiters are doing their thing just like they are supposed to. You're trying to rev higher than the limiters so they are cutting things appropriately.

First off, a stock C6 Z06 stops making power above 6800 RPM so the extra 400 RPM isn't really doing anything for you. You can actually see it in the spark logs where the dynamic cylinder airflow starts decreasing rapidly.

2nd if you need for some reason to shift at 7200 RPM, set the limits up higher to say, 7300 or 7400 RPM.

Your opinions are the difference between a driver, and a tuner. I am looking to make my shifts at exactly or as close to 7000 rpm as possible. I want the extra rpm's "just in case", however the extra rpm isn't the issue. I don't care if the car actually hits the rev limiter, what I am concerned with is the recovery time.

In this case, once the rev limiter is hit, the ecm has been closing the throttle to 40%, and keeping it there after the shift is completed, and the RPM's fall. I have altered the tune some more, and now the throttle stays open, but the timing dops to -12 degrees or more, and stays there. I NEED IT TO RECOVER MORE QUICKLY. I have the cutoff rpm hysteresis set at 1 rpm, but it takes much longer than that.

If I have to learn to drive around this problem as I see it, I will. I don't always hit the rev limiter on every pass anyway, but if I do, I don't want to have to abort the run. As far as i see it, there is no reason this can't be "tuned" out. Maybe there is a table that HP tuners doesn't "see" that is the problem.

A little bit about driving a Z06, and why I want to shift at 7000:

I am having the exact same issue. It's an LS7 in a rock crawler equipped with a th400. Once it hits the rev limiter, the throttle drops to 40% unless you let off and re-apply the throttle. I am running a 2006 Z06 file. Even when you shift, the throttle stays at 40% and the RPM's drop to 4500 rpm's. Stays there until you let off and re-apply the throttle.

try having your start up modifiers set whole table to say 7300 rpms, switch over delay to 255

    see if this helps.
