on a dodge is pe commanded by pressure or throttle angle?

assuming dodge pe is tripped by throttle angle:

if your running with a turbo at 50% throttle light load making 8psi, would you have it engaging PE (open loop) at that low of of throttle angle?

tripping pe mode at a low throttle angle is going to cause issues in other driving circumstances, where it can run way too rich when it is not making boost 8 psi of boost but is at 50% throttle angle

my interpetation of "part throttle boost" tuning is not the small area of the data log where you transition between cruise and wot with it.

part throttle boost tuning for me is when you are lightly cruising under low/medium loads, boost, and throttle angle which can vary the fueling needs significantly with turbos, where impellar speeds are not derived from the crankshaft, but varying pressures in the exhaust system.

I agree with your definition of "part throttle boost".

The logs were only intended to illistrate that PE and WOT throttle angle are independant tuning parameters.

PE, as in every other Chysler PCM, is triggered by Throttle/pedal position but PE is a 17x17 table based off Pressure Ratio and RPM. So even though PE might get engaged a little early during some driving situtations, rate of change in Commanded A/F vs Pr can be tuned to match the turbo/sc characteristics.

Duster360 and I seem to have had very different experiences with achieving PE . My experience has been that the PE-WOT threshold constant , when lowered, does enable PE, but also causes the throttle to go wide open. I have seen this repeatedly , on any forced induction car that has come through our shop. What Duster360 is arguing, and has shown in the second datalog, is that he is able to achieve PE without having the throttle open to WOT. I don't know if he is doing this solely through lowering the PE-WOT threshold, or has figured out something else. Either way, I don't understand why he seems to have no issues with this problem, while so many other struggle with PE-WOT including myself. My only disagreement with Duster360 is that I think he may be unknowingly minimizing the issue that so many others are legitimately having. He has indicated that it has not been an issue for him , so maybe he cannot quite sympathize with others that have spent considerable time dealing with this problem. Bottom line is that many (most?) FI DBW Dodges exhibit this problem to varying degrees, if there is an oblivious fix, I'm sure many people would be interested to know what that is, including myself.

    LOL

Edit: What seems to be taking so long on this? Bill, I looked at the software @ PRI 2009, remember? How could it be close enough one year ago, to actually have it to the point of development to actually view a file, but yet one year later, not even be able to release it in a beta?

The clock is ticking. While some are waiting patiently, others are using different means to an end.

From what I have seen almost all the FI dodge cars have the issue you are discussing. I seem to have had pretty good luck tweaking the throttle body flow tables and the voltages. It seems to sometimes go too far and and it forces WOT and sticks sometimes at WOT. Then I back both tables down a bit here and there until I find the balance. It isn't good when a 600rwhp car stick at WOT even if it is just for a second or two.

We are in need of better tunability, please, work faster. Atleast release a beta or something. This could greatly help the dcx community.

Blow through and suck through FI have their own separate tuning issues.

The first turbo I tuned had a blow through tb. It ran perfectly fine until the boost was raised and then and only then did WOT start to hang. It drove me a little nuts trying to fgure it out but eventually I got it to run great.

that's the quickest way to get to an hptuners compatible vehicle. With Dodge switching to a new controller again in the new SRT models, I doubt us Challenger owners will ever see a solution other then Diablo cmr

Our software engineer is buried in code right now and I'm pretty sure hasn't posted at all in a few weeks as he tries to get things wrapped up.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
