Thread: Dodge Progress

  1. #561
Like everyone else I'm anxious to use this. I work for a shop that does GM, Ford, and Dodge. This will be a big improvement in being able to use my favorite software. A question on something that is being a pain in the ass on the Dodge trucks is the lack of being able to turn codes off like a GM. You have the option of turning off the O2's, but that won't make them pass a readiness test if you know what I mean. I need to be able to turn off the P0420 and P0430 codes. Is this going to be a possibility?

    Thanks,

BTW, scanning the Dodge now is easy thanks to HPT.

Do you have an AFR/err histogram setup with the pratio PID?

If so would you mind sharing it?

So if I have a regular VCM Suite for GM will the scanner work on my 05 Magnum R/T AWD or do I need the beta? If I need the beta how can I get it?

From what they told me i would need the MPVI Interface and the Beta. I'm still using the old serial hardware. I'm going to update to the MPVI Interface as soon as the release the dodge support. I bought a used Handheld for the time being. All i can say is that it sucks. Chistmas bonuses are coming up guys. Think it will be out before then?

You are better off learning how to do it yourself . For the pressure ratio , just divide map by baro (make sure they are the same units . ) I say set the histogram up yourself because you are going to have to define the axis break points anyway, as they vary depending on the calibration.

I'll see what I can dig up for you, but the afr/err isn't going to be there. The dyno reads the afr for me. The dyno uses a Horiba wideband which should be good enough to do the job and I don't run that through the HPT cable.

As for how to do it, the Beta will be needed. Many I think will be impressed with how well and fast the scanner works with the Dodge. After using the HPT and the Diablo in the same day, HPT should get an award.

I get what you are saying. I just have two issues with it, one....I am lazy. Not a big one to overcome considering how bad I actually need this given some of the projects I am working on. Issue two, there would be 4 histrograms by my count, 3 I understand well enough to work out on my own. The 4th being 09+ cars which is the one I really NEED the most and understand the least. I can tune the trucks and the pre 09 cars with no trouble at all. I can't tell you why it is, but the math is completely different on 09+ cars and the trims bounce around a ton more. Eventually I get them right, but it is through trial and error and not scientific methods

Just making my annual read here to see if there is anything yet. Just as it has been every other time- nada . Come on guys, I have had FOUR hemi vehicles since the first time I heard "it will be released shortly". I never would have bought the tuning suite if I knew "shortly" meant 3+ years.

    Any luck with the beta?

I have a LX car now, looking forward to hearing where they are at with this. I really don't want to have to drop a bunch of cash on a different interface.

    Unless I have to.

    read/write loaders are done

    master hemi def is done

    several os's have been mapped

firmware is in beta but currently manually applied to the hardware

we'll release an automated firmware update into beta in 2.25 as to not break anything else in 2.23 while we try to make that stable enough for a public release.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Sounds great Bill! Thank you very much for the update.

    2 questions:

    1. Any chance we can get in on the beta at all?

    2. Is there anything I can do to help, i.e. scan my car and send you the file?

yeah our software designer would need to do it manually, don't ask if you can send one in because the answer is no.

    NGC3 first
    JTEC second
    NGC4 third

    who knows what after that.

NGC3 off the bat. No ETA for JTEC and other as eta's have gotten us to where we are in this thread(ie nothing good comes from them).
