If the speedo isn't working the ECM may remain on the idle tables. That isn't good for tuning. Are you seeing MPH in the scan logs or just no speedo on the dash? If you have MPH reported in the scan logs you're ok.

Would the trans showing neutral (a4 to m6 conversion)have anything to do with it ?
