    Question Magnum V8 (5.2/5.9)?

    Hello,

First I have to apologize for my bad english. I hope you can understand my question.

Is there a chance, that Trucks with the Magnum Engine (5.2/5.9)?, such as the Dodge Durango or Jeep Grand Cherokee, will be supportet in the (near) future?

There are also a lot of people in the german Jeep-Forum who always search for something like HPTuners.

    Thanks for the good news!
If I buy the Soft- and Hardware now (to tune some GM cars), what do I need later to tune a Dodge/Jeep?

It will be a simple software update & then just purchasing Dodge credits.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Sounds like you got the additional programmer that you had been looking for ..

When you are ready for additional ECM dumps, I will get you one from a '99 5.9, 2500, 4x4.

We really haven't looked into them as of yet to give you a definite answer either way.

im glad im not the only one who needs tuning on the Jtec+ 5.2/5.9. The good thing is that the scanner works so hopefully the editor is next. i know lots of people on various sites that would snatch up the HP Tuners in a second since currently the best thing out there is SCT and it is severely lacking in the parameters it is capable of tuning. These are some of the sites/forums that house hundreds of guys waiting for a better solution:

    http://www.dakotart.com/forum/index.php
    http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/
    http://www.bionicdodge.com/bionic/index.php

these sites have guys that know a lot more than i do about tuning dodges and could probably be a big help in supplying vin data and pcm part numbers and just overall knowledge of wat is needed

He didn't tell which year. So this sentence is still true...

After all the years we are waiting. I don't think this is going to happen. And if it really does, 90% of the people don't care anymore. Because there aren't a lot of compatible cars around anymore. Maybe that's why they started to work on the NGC stuff.

One thing I know for sure is that I will sell my Jeep soon, so I will be one of the persons who don't care anymore if JTEC will be supported or not. Sad but true...

well jeez thanks for jumping off the bandwagon. i for one am never getting rid of my dakota r/t. its naturally aspirated, stock block, stock weight and runs 12's in the quarter but with better tuning and more adjustable parameters id be able to get rid of some of the part throttle issues among other stuff and probably gain a little power too

What part throttle issues are you having? What are your LTFTs looking like?

long term fuel trims are great right around -5 or so but its the little nagging things that cant be adjusted like for example the IAC not compensating enough for the big cam when coming to a stop. or the tcc lockup not having full adjustment parameters either like i cant lock up at any more than 5100 rpms at WOT even though I need it to lock at around 6000 rpms at the track. Just a lot of little things which the HPTuners could solve all of this.

also to the poster back in january, just because you are selling your truck doesnt mean that whoever buys it wont be looking for some tuning solutions. Yes there are less 5.2/5.9 motors on the road now than 10 years ago but these engines last a very long time and i guarantee the ones that are still on the road are ones that are being taken good care of and wont be leaving the road anytime soon.
