Thread: Tach signal for dyno

    Tach signal for dyno

Has anyone ever used an EIO output to send tach signal to a dynojet dyno?

EDIT: I guessing this would require the analog input module for 0-5V signals.

EIO Output won't do Tachometer... There is a Tach wire on most of the LS1 series engines. Just check your wiring diagram.

That would be the show stopper. Thanks just an idea I had because of watching someone have issues with an optical pickup.
The tach wire off the PCM is a good idea.

    Jeff,

I use injector pulse for a tach signal on our current Dyno Dynamics dyno. We just ordered the there new digital dyno which now uses OBD2 data as a input. It will use the rpm pid for a tach signal.

OBD2 is great unless your logging with HPTuners already. However....

I didn't know you could connect more than one device to the OBD2 port.
