Stiffer transmission shift at high rpm after engine tune on 2005 6.6 duramax

    Hello,

I have just tuned 2 2005 6.6 duramax by calibrating only the engine settings, I did not touch transmission and engine torque settings at all. The power gain is good but I got stiffer shiftings at high end rpms. Is it normal??? or would you suggest any softening touch on transmission parameters??? Please see the calibrated file attached, if needed. Regards, Murat

How many miles have you put on the truck with this tune ? It usualy takes some driveing for the tranny to relearn it self. Remember it has its own brain. EGR settings will make a diffrence also. Is your SES light on? If so turn the EGR back to enable. or go in and turn the code off . Some how the EGR and tranny are connected. Had the same problem on a 04.5 .I had the EGR disabled not blocked, and after a wile the egr got stopped up and made the truck shift funny. The truck ended up going to the dealer to get the EGR cleaned out or replaced DONO. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Just block the egr. Your motor will be happier.
