    I'm interested as well.

I had a guy contact me that has a 98 TA with a LSX 454 Ported L92 heads 236 250 cam with a 4l80e. He said he drives it everyday and needs a better tune in it. I'm glad I saw this thread before I started to tune it.

So I guess all I need is the file that is talked about above and a license for a 98 F-Body(which I have), correct?

    Files attached for different versions

Bringing this back from the dead. I made calibrations for the 4 basic versions of a 98 Camaro/Firebird.

The fuel system segment from a 2002 Express van is installed in each and the fuel level calibration was copied in from a 98 calibration. I don't have a vehicle to test these on so I need feedback or re-posts from anyone who tries these files out in their own car.

Note: You will have to license the file to install it in your particular car. You will need the Beta version (or 2.24 when available) to read them.
    VATS is NOT disabled!

The only changes to these files from stock calibrations are the Fuel System segment swap and the fuel system values copied from the 98 base file.

Here are the files for standard PCM swap applications:
    98 Manual transmission Attachment 24059
    98 4L60E 2.73 gear ratio Attachment 24060
    98 4L60E 3.23 gear ratio Attachment 24061

For those doing a 4L80E swap as well I also did this one:
    98 4L80E 3.73 gear ratio Attachment 24062

Can this file be used with the 2001 (0411 PCM) also after writing this file can you apply the Real time tuning feature for HP Tuners?

Just got the swap done. all i can say is wow was that easy. I think it was just about as hard as doing heads and a cam.
You just really have to and i cant stress this enought, lebel your 98 wires one at a time in a clear clear maner.
I used a ptouch with 6mm tape in it and did each wire one by one.
It came in very useful, i could tell the 6's and the 9's etc.
The car idles much better, better throttle responce.
ALL the gauges work perfectly. (thanks Joe)
I will be posting a how-to with pics in the next few days with a file you can write to the pcm that will have the correct tables in it to make the fuel gauge work properly.
IF YOU USE OUR FILE WITH HP TUNERS IT WILL COST YOU 4 CREDITS.

There are many different 98 OS's, so the fuel cal isn't a one-size-fits-all thing.

I mentioned that in your thread on Tech.

Yes, the thread where you guys threw a fit because I charge for work (crazy right?) and I wouldn't fix it or tell you how to for free. It's even more crazy that you would throw a fit about my charging for services after you lifted some text RIGHT OFF of my site for your own. But hey good luck with that...

You just like to chime in to peoples conversion like a child saying things wont work, but if you pay me I'll tell you why.

Whatever dude, I can pay my bills and still help people out for free.

My info I have received from other members has proven to work flawlessly. My 98 is now running GREAT on a 2002 PCM , gas gauge and all.

Frost you dont want to help so butt out.

Did you have the 4l80E trans segment swapped into your file?

Bank 2 looks a bit weird in your log.

Is it possible to get fuel gauge working in 98' cluster after swapping 00' PCM with 9381344 OS?

I know the last activity on this thread is almost 3 years old, just curious if anyone used the files that EC_Tune posted with the fuel segment swap and if the gauge worked correctly? I have a 2000 PCM that I am going to try to swap in my 98. I am assuming that I am looking at 4 credits to get this done. 2 credits to license the 2000 PCM and whatever OS is on it currently, then 2 more credits to license the OS that EC-Tune posted. Is this correct? The PCM SERV NO. is 09354896 and the HDW NO. is 16220610 and from research it looks like this PCM will accept an 02 Fbody OS without issue, does anyone have any information contrary to this PCM working with an 02 Fbody OS before I get too far down the rabbit hole with this swap?

I know the 2088, 2156 OS does now have the PWM Enable/Disable Switch and PWM Gauge Frequency enabled.

I just pulled a 2000 FBody OS 1334 OS and it DOES NOT HAVE THE PWM Gauge Switch.

You CAN load a 2156 OS onto your PCM.

Sorry to have confused anyone with the credit thing, but first, to do the PCM swap in a 98 Fbody, get the 0411 PCM, its by far the best PCM of the 512kb PCM's.
with the Newer PCM you will get the 2156 OS that with the latest version of HP Tuners you have access to the PWM Enable/Disable Switch and PWM Gauge Frequency.
If you start with the 0411 pcm with the 2156 FBody OS the swap is SOOOO much easier and only will cost 2 credits and best of all NO SEGMENT SWAPS NEEDED!

I have a 1998 T/A T56 car. I am going to be swapping in a 4L80 in the next year or so. A few years back, I picked up a '1999 PCM Serv No 09354896 w/ Hdw No 16220610'

Is that PCM worth swapping over? How does it compare to the 0411 PCM you speak of?

That is the same PCM that I got out of a 2000 Tahoe. I am still confused about the credits though. Do I have to license the OS that is on the PCM now and then license on of the files that EC_Tune posted with the segment swap? Is there now new functionality in HP Tuners that will allow us to fix the gauge issue without a segment swap? Can someone explain how a swap can be done with minimal credits? It seems that I would have to license the new PCM and then license whatever OS I put on the new PCM. Can you write to a PCM without licensing it first? Also, is there any issues with VIN/OS mismatch that may come into play? I am sorry for being so dense!
