    HPT Not working

I was just about to head to a friends house to shut off a few codes, and wanted to put load a new tune in my car.

I plugged the system in and turned the car to run, and when I tried to upload the tune HTP tells me interface was found, but no veicle power was found.

So, I checked every connection 3 plus times, the car is on run, and I keep getting the same pop up.

My laptop is plugged in to the outlet so it's charged.

I justed the car to make sure it work and it started up after sitting for two week.

I tried to run scanner and got the same information.

    What's the deal?

check for blown fuses. Usually if it detects the interface but no vehicle power that is the culprit.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

ZI just unpluged the system from the computer and pushed the record button on my MPVI with the car on run, and the record is not lighting up.

I am plugged into the ODB II, and it looks like the MPVI isnt getting power.

Instructions for using standalone logging are in the help file as well as a flash demo which runs you through step by step. If you do not follow the instructions standalone datalogging will NOT work.

    no

so you can read the codes with the scanner? can you retrieve a vcm suite infolog?

I hold down the record button and it doesnt do anything
you need to configure the standalone datalogger for it to work as previously stated. The demo in the help file www.hptuners.com/help runs you through step by step how to use it.

So you've reconfigured it for your friends car then?

When you hook the hardware to your obd2 port but NOT your laptop does the green power light come on?

when I only hook up the MPVI to the OBD, NO the green light does not come on. It DOES when I plug it into the laptop.

No I did not program the MPVI for my friends car. I wanted to change the tune in my car and never made it to my friends house

Here are the codes that came up in the car from the DTC

    bcm-
    bo502
    bo507
    bo2482

    ipc
    u1255

    ao-ldcm
    2284
    u1064
    u1096

    ao rdcm
    2285
    1064

    rfa
    u1096
    1064
    1016

all the lights and everything work.
could the codes be from pulling the fuses ? Im not sure how long they have been in there for.

  13. #13
Looks like all the codes were history codes.

Im going to take the car for a quick run and see if I get new ones

    Bill,
After a quick 15 mintue drive, no codes came up. I plugged in the MPVI pro, and when I pushed in the record button, nothing happened

When you plug the interface into the vehicle, the power light should come on, if not it indicates no obd2 port power, bad obd cable, or bad interface.

Plug it into another vehicle, if the power light comes on, you know its your obd2 fuse.
