Source for 5 volts for extra sensors

I just traded my old serial interface in for the MPVI. I just realized I lost my 5 volts source for my extra sensors.

Is there a good place to tap for +5 volts for extra sensors? Car is a Corvette.

    Thanks

LM7805 is your friend. You will have to "create" a 5 volt source for 5 volt sensors with the MPVI.

Or you can snag the 5 volt sensor & return lines off the MAP sensor.

I also recommend making your own; you wouldn't
want to be pulling down one of the PCM +5V sources
and mess up what depends off that. The 7805 I think
is still available at Radio Shack (though their line is
sure shrinking, as time goes by) and bone simple to
hook up if you can solder at all. You might just pick
a few from Digi-Key or similar places and make all
your "5V" sensors into "12V" ones. Standardize to
the cigarette plug, like. Though I've come to like the
9V battery as it eliminates ground offsets by floating
it all except the signal and ground.

7805 is a 5 volt source. Plenty of info about it on google.

LM7805 and variants, three terminal voltage
regulator. Go to www.national.com as a start
and pull the datasheet which will have app
notes at the back. In, out, ground, hang a
capacitor on the output if you want.
