    Unhappy 06 Tbss P0335 E40

    Hello All,

I have an 06 Trailblazer I just put an LSA supercharger. Truck will start idle and drive. However it will start popping and banging if I hit the accelerator.

Truck is throwing a P0335- Crankshaft Position Sensor DTC

I?ve replaced CKP sensor. I?ve replaced ECM. I?ve checked all wiring to the CKP from the ECM and back probed. Everything checks out. Checked reluctor with borescope and seems fine. Tuner checked tune and said it had to be a wiring issue.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? I believe the issue isn?t any of these but I have no idea what else it could be. I was thinking something in the tune?

Did you check for power and ground at the CKP connector?

Tune and log would be helpful. Where is Ed with the crystal ball?
Did you have it tuned after you installed the blower? If you installed the blower and did not have it tuned, was there different injectors with the blower that were installed? Did you change the injector data? Did you adjust the spark plug gap? Was there a different MAP sensor supplied with the blower? Did you change the data for that? What day was the blower mfg on?
    Lots of questions.

Checked power and ground at CKP sensor. Tuck was tuned when NA. Got retuned when supercharger was put on. Injectors and fuel pump were upgraded. New ls7 maf sensor installed. New spark plugs and gapped.

Truck was tuned to speed density. Wondering if that has anything to do with it

Let's see the tune !! Speed density won't cause that problem unless it is done wrong.

Could be an issue causing the popping and banging and that's what's causing the P0335 code. In other words, the code is a symptom, not the cause. Of course this is just a guess as that's what my crystal ball told me LOL

Does this have adapter plates on it or does it have a LS3/LSA style head?

Truck has 823 heads i believe from a 6.2. I will get with my tuner and ask for the tunes file and he might have a log. I read on here that you can leave the truck in a closed loop for more of a daily driver and was thinking that might be an issue. Thanks everybody!

If that popping and banging is from a lean condition, get ready to buy some new pistons. Don't do that ---wait until somebody can give you some help. Do you have HPTuners?

I don’t have hptuners yet. Waiting on the tune files from my tuner.

I agree with Ed that the P0335 code is a symptom from another issue. But I’m not sure where to start to find the issue.

    Could a misfire cause this?

Code clears when engine is running but runs like poop.

Ignition on engine off - the code comes back and does not clear.

That code is a mechanical issue. or wiring. I can't see that being a tune problem.

    Ok.

But I’m confident wiring to the CKP sensor to the ECM is fine. Pretty confident the reluctor is fine. Not sure what other mechanical issues it could be. I have a new MAF sensor coming today that I’ll be throwing at it.

Not sure what other wiring issues could affect this.

Not sure what other mechanical issues could be going on.

Belt slip? Misfire? Throttlebody? Running out of ideas of other issues that would affect and cause this P0335 code

The interruption in crankshaft speed caused by the cough/pop/banging is what's causing the DTC. Fix that and the code should go away. With no data log or tune file to look at all anyone can do is guess.

It looks like tuner guy wants to have it in speed density but it's not properly setup, so it's running off the MAF.

Ok so how do I explain this to the tuner?

I understand a little bit of what’s going on but not much. If you could dumb it down for me that would be awesome
