Idle surging and drivability help needed.

GOMEZ FIREBIRD TUNE fixes 2, TC AIRFLOW MOD, IDLE SPARK ADVANCE.hpt

I paid a "tuner" to tune my firebird. I am still having issues with the car surging it idle and when rolling the car will pull you at 1500 rpm and I have to ride the brakes to keep it slow. Idle will come down to normal a couple of seconds after I completely stop. I have the Tuning School Level 1 book and followed the idle stability section and it still has the issues stated. Any help is appreciated. I am not taking the car back to this tuner. I'm hoping to get help in here and learn something I can use later.

Start over with a stock file. That one is still too far gone, same as the last time you posted with this same issue. It's turbo, with a 1-bar MAP? And no SD operating system? And the injectors are... scaled? Or somebody attempted some weird form of scaling? This is garbage.

Need to post a complete list of mods so we know what we're dealing with. Don't know if this is a stock vehicle with a cold air intake or turbo with big injectors. Follow me?

There is a lot of rough things in that tune. I'd consider starting from scratch. You should be able to find a stock compare file on the repository.

The car is a 02 firebird. Has a 6.0 LQ9 with 243 heads, MS3 cam, fast 92 intake and throttle body. Has long tubes. Stock rebuilt 4l60e with 3200 stall. Its a pretty basic build. Still running a maf, not SD.

Injectors get absolutely zero mention, nor why it looks like someone tried some form of scaling. This is going well, I expect positive results any minute now.

And none of the issues have been fixed since the last thread with the same problems on the same car, 3 weeks ago.

So i down loaded a stock tune file for a similar car. I have the tuningschool.com books and am starting from scratch. I found the info for the scaling the injectors and think I did it correctly.FAUXMULA Starting over fresh.hpt

If the data you found for scaling the injectors said "these injectors in this PCM do not need to be scaled at all, anywhere, for any reason" then yes, that'd be correct.

Since DW doesn't have their data files available publicly on their site, you need to also post the spreadsheet they gave you with the injectors if you want anyone to check that it was all put in correctly, without anything being 'scaled'.

If you're returnless/non-referenced and at 58psi, then the injector data is as it should be.
