Cast an eye over this please

After a 0.2 slower run at the strip i looked and why none of the improvements had worked and found a big power loss through the "new" exhaust system, rectified this with some straight throughs and gained quite a bit. I was using the data from the engine torque function. Realising i need too retune too suit i've had a right memory loss on how to do stuff. If anyone could check i've got this in SD before i alter my tune, many thanks John in wales where no one has a LS

top of the morning to ya.

    sorry, typical yank here.

why dont you tell us more about your vehicle.
engine, parts used, transmission, stall, gear ratio, cam etc.

your VE and spark tables are intersting. Not that theyre wrong, just would like to know how you came to using what you have as every engine is different.

    cheers

Uh, zeroed out what? Do not zero out the MAF table, that has nothing to do with failing the MAF and can create other problems. The tune file has the MAF failed correctly, with the exception of [ECM] 3003.

Your log has a current P0103, which is what it should have if the MAF is installed and plugged in but failed. If totally removed/unplugged it will have both P0102 & P0103.

Nope, setting that real low is for 'MAF-only'. Needs to be set higher than it will ever get to.

As much as i tried and checked, it always showed the MAF reading something, i looked back at some of the other times i had run VE tuning and found the MAF table zeroed out (2017) i tried it, it worked. It's all much older stuff here as i'm a one man band tuning one car. HPTuners pro 1 with version 4.4 if that makes any difference, too busy out there too go tuning i'll just be sat in traffic for miles

Yes, of course there will still be a Hz reading from the MAF when failed as long as it is still plugged in and still in the airstream. DO NOT log MAF-specific channels when you have failed the MAF in the tune. It can freak things out - you're asking for data from a sensor you've explicitly told the PCM you do not want it to use.

Your log showed a current P0103. It was/is in speed density. Stop freaking out. You can remove/unplug/depin the signal wire from the MAF connector if you still have doubts.

There is a channel you can add that will show you in real time if the MAF is failed or not: Mass Air Flow Sensor State. And remove the other PIDs that are reading MAF data (Cylinder Airmass, Dynamic Airflow, Volumetric Efficiency Airflow, etc, are calculated, not direct readings taken from the MAF).

Many thanks, so it won't skew any info for VE tuning although it's logging? No harm done as I still have all the info from yesterday so I'm one stage closer to fetching the table inline

Did you miss the part about 'do not log MAF channels when MAF is supposed to be failed'?
