    2017 RAM 1500 5.7 MDS Licenses

    Hello Everyone,

I posted this question in the Dodge Gas area of forum, but another member suggested to ask the question in this area.
Im trying to do a MDS disable on a 2017 RAM i did a Stock Read of PCM and TCM.
When I opened the file after read it made me Agree and licensed the PCM.
Once i modify MDS setting i goto write the truck it says im not licensed for the vehicle. It shows the serial number of the TCM at that stage.
It shows i only need 2 credits to tune this make / model.
Should i do a full stock read of just PCM instead of to prevent this?
    Just looking for some recommendations.

    Thanks
    Chris.

If you only want to tune the ecm you'll need to read just the ecm. Don't read the ecm and tcm.

The ZF8 TCM requires additional credits as outlined on our supported vehicle page.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

When it comes to MDS disable on a 2017 RAM, the licensing process can sometimes be a bit tricky. Doing a full stock read of just the PCM might indeed help avoid this problem. It's worth a shot! Other folks might have different experiences, but that's what worked for me in a similar situation.
