    20 3.0 ecoboost tune review?

Can the community help with looking into this tune? Its been great but theres one issue. While gently accelerating normally, once it gets to 5th gear and around 60-65mph, if you keep gently pushing on the pedal to keep accelerating, the vehicle snaps your head back and takes off like a rocket. The best comparison is like a power band on a 250 2 stroke dirtbike. it goes from about 80% throttle right to 96% and what i assume is max boost, about 36psi according to vcm scanner. If ya dont let off the pedal it throws a p0068 code and goes into limp mode. It takes about 2-3 seconds in real time to trip the wrench light. Its completely fine if your driving wtfo. Its the casual DD that its an issue. And forget about towing a 3k lb trailer......jesus

I'll try to get a look at it when I get a minute, been busy with some E30 tuning, but should be able to look at what you got this weekend.

Hey man, I am new to this forum but not new at all to tuning ecoboosts. Dude, your lucky this thing was going down the road honestly.

A few obvious issues. Mostly torque demand and LSPI tables. They made no sense at all, your low table is set to all 3, but then your other tables are all over the place. Your allowing more load with crap OAR than if your OAR was perfect, could have really hurt something if you got bad gas. I completely redid your LSPI tables and made a few other demand and load adjustments as well. Your torque demand didn't make much sense to me either, you only adjusted the bottom two rows and left the rest alone, you commanded 600 pound feet, but your max torque set in your other settings was only 511. You jumped up to 600 lb feet out of no where, which is probably that surge your getting. Also, any reason why 28936 Expected TIP is raped at the end but nothing else changed? Usually I see even changes on this whole chart. I put back to stock and raised the whole chart by 5.

Your inverse torque tables were off as well so adjusted those. Also some WOT fueling changes that I made.

Personally not a fan of changing KR rates, so I put those back to stock on my revision for you and made it safer, up to you if you want to put those back.

The 36 PSI your seeing should not be boost PSI, that should be TIP (36 minus atmosphere of 14.7 puts you at 21.3 PSI which is normal).

Your limp mode/check engine light is because your asking for way more boost than needed, and you were probably exceeding some limiters, plus your LSPI charts were beyond messed up. I adjusted the settings that trip that particular code just in case.

Test this file (Rev 3) and report back, if you still have issues, I suggest starting again from stock. Refer to the HP Tuners Turbocharger tuning video on Youtube as a starting place. There are a few ST files floating around here worth looking at too.

If all else fails, pay the big bucks and let ZFG or Gearhead write you a tune.
