    2020 5.3 into a 2018 sierra 5.3

Hi, a shop is asking me to reflash the 2018 ecu after installing a 2020 5.3 which left them with a bunch of codes. They said they used all the hardware off the 2020 such as map, maf, injectors, intake manifold, tb etc.

Essentially I'm unsure if a tune can remedy any of this or if it's strictly a hardware mismatch.

Currently the codes they are getting are p0172, p0175, p16E4, fuel rail pressure sensor 1 and 2 internal performance and signal codes, p16E5, c2A07, c1166.

I told the customer to swap over his 2018 L83 airbox, map, maf and injectors.

I see the L84 uses a different high pressure fuel pump, is it sufficient to transfer over the pump related values over from a 2020 L84 tune file or will they need to somehow transfer the mechanical fuel pump assembly over?

Also, is the fuel lobe size the same on the L84 and L83 cam? Thanks

No reflash should be needed. Just swap sensors and HPFP over, and she should fire right up and be happy.
