gas mileage pid

how do i go about setting up a gas mileage 'gauge' so to speak? i know i would have to set it up in the scanner, but what formula and sensors wouldi use?

For LS1's

[SENS.20]/(([PID.6210]*0.132276)*[SENS.112]*[SENS.70]*8/(6175*(((([SENS.11]+[sens.10])/2)+273.15)/299.8167)))

this should get you MPG..and should compensate a little for fuel temperature a little bit..cause fuel weighs different amounts at different temperatures

seems to be accurate in my car...


basically its
[MPH]/(([Injector Flow Rate]*0.132276)*[InjectorPulse Width]*[RPM]*8/(6175*(((([IAT]+[ECT])/2)+273.15)/299.8167)))

with everything converted so that the units match appropriately

Sadly (for me) it is very close.

with mine I set up a histogram...that uses just the MPG PID...then over the length of the scan it will average the instantaneous values and come up with my average MPG

is the injector flow rate you speak of like 42.5#/hr or would that convert to something?

im guessing my car is more similar to the ls2 set up since its the 2.0 eco. and its not exactly stock...

its the actual calculated flow rate on ls1's....it changes with rpm and with MAP...its not a static vale on any vehicle

As always, you come up with some pretty intriguing formulas. As always, us V6's are missing some stuff (or it's not even available).

In this case, my car does not have injector flow rate. Is there something that i could use in its place? Is there some way to determine injector flow rate with a formula?
