"Detect Protocol failed" can anyone help..

I used this MPVI2 on a 2011 Silverado about 5 years ago slightly less. Have not used it since. Same vehicle, same tuner, different laptop (windows 11) Installed the suite and the MPVI2 driver. Synced the tuner with success and made sure the tuner was linked with the editor as far as I can tell but have tried 3 different usb-A to usb-c cables and I cant get it to read or scan. Always comes up with this error message after the attempt. Key on and tried it in key in the first position, dont understand it. Tried everything I know to try. Submitted a ticket but would like to do this asap. I confirmed it was getting power from the OBD2 when not connected to the laptop it has the light lit up. Used a Bosch reader I have and it worked on the truck read the codes and deleted history. Attempts after that, same results.
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

Any aftermarket stuff installed like a alarm system or radio?
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.
