    Rich on cold start

I've researched and can't find exactly what parameters set command AFR at startup in closed loop. I noticed in the very cold weather on startup commanded AFR is going to .55. On start up when under 40* I am seeing .60 eq ratio and rough idle for about 20 seconds and commanded AFR slowly moves up to 1.00 and runs fine. What can I adjust to lean out the startup? VE and MAF are dead in when warm.

I guess that is where I am confused. The logger says closed loop active is yes when I start. And the open loop for alcohol and gas shows rich in the cold engine temp areas. They are all above 1.00 which should be rich correct? Yet I am commanding .55 lambda in the logger.

I think where the confusion may be is this. Open loop (greater than 1) is a multiplier to add that much more fuel. On your wideband, less than 1 is rich and greater than 1 is lean. In the cal, it's a multiplier, not a commanded lambda. If it's indeed showing richer than something around a .97ish lambda then all you need to do is take a touch out at a time until you're happy with it.

That makes sense. I was looking at the table wrong. Thanks!

Just copied the gas over alcohol tables and commanding.87 and hitting around .95 after cold start. Much better. Thanks again.

No problem. Glad you got it worked out! You can fine tune the stft initial open loop operation where fuel trims start kicking in via the IVT open loop table if you need to adjust it any further.

I had to turn down the IVT and OL tables as well once I went to an E blend. I was wayyy rich as well in colder temps. Typically if you just multiply your IVT value by the OL table value (at your corresponding temps) that should get you very close to your commanded EQ ratio while in OL. I know there are a few other multiplier tables, but just going off of my experience.

In case you'd like to use logs to adjust, the term is called phi. FAR instead of AFR. Phi is the inverse of lambda, or 1/lambda. You can create a custom math function for it in order to track with the wideband.
