    6.0 ls surging at idle

Im relatively new to the tuning world and am looking for some help. I have a 2006 chevy silverado with a 6.0 and a sloppy stage 2 cam from michigan motorsports. I got a out of the box tune for the truck when the cam was swapped and it ran good, definetly rich but started and ran fine. Last month i swapped my 4l80e for a rebuilt one and put a jeggs 2800-3200 stall converter. Since the converter install the truck has problems surging and idling. Cam specs are 228/230, 585"/.585" 112 LSA.

You have virtually no spark control until the idle RPMs vary over 50 RPM. I'm sure that thing idle rolls like a cruise ship on a rough night.

According to TSP that is so small it doesn't need tuning.

truck is still surging and occasionally stalling at slow speeds while going around turns or trying to park, Any ideas at what could be causing this?

You always have to post current tune and log to get any chance at a real answer.

Could probably play with the throttle cracker table some to help with low speed stalling.

Is the TB stock or aftermarket? Either way, fueling 1200 rpm and below matters. More things come into play with larger TB than stock.

Post a log. How many times does it have to be said?

I think you could increase your base running airflow-watch the STIT in your log-it's calling for more base idle airflow. Also, your idle spark under/over speed are a bit dramatic and could use a little taming. You can build a graph to average LTFT and STFT together to get a better idea as to how close your VE table is, but I don't think you are far off as far as fueling is concerned. ve table could use a little smoothing though. Timing... is all over the place. Your IN PARK and IN DRIVE spark tables from .08 through .28, and from 0 rpm through 800 should all be the same, in all 4 spark tables-low, high, and in park, and in drive. Also, add TPS as part of your log. What is going on with your adaptive idle airflow #'s?

As a test go into the special controls in the scanner, and while scanning lock the timing at something like 25.. at engine operating temperature...with it idling, is it better or worse, if you slightly tap the gas pedal? Does it have issues losing control of idle if you lightly bump the gas pedal?

ill try increasing my base running airflow by a couple pounds per hour and smoothing the ve table. Tps is a part of the log but ive only gotten a reading from it twice, every other log it is missing. I recently replaced the tps sensor to see if that was the issue and still no luck. The adaptive idle airflows are just plugged in numbers since they were zeroed out when i first started tuning. Here is an example of what you recommended with controlling the spark at idle. The truck struggled to stay alive and struggled catching itself after the throttle was released.

(i did not make any changes to the timing tables like u suggested before this log)
