Tuning Help 2007 Yukon XL 6.2L swapped to 6.0L

    Good Evening,

I recently motor swapped a 6.2L out of my 2007 Yukon XL that had DOD with a 6L80E Transmission AWD. It was replaced with a 6.0l, with VVTI deleted, chevy hot cam added, factory muffler replaced with a magnaflow, and exhaust straight pipe from Catalytic Converter out to muffler then exit.

I have an older MPVI Tuner and have everything set up. I am looking for help tuning the truck.

It will not start easily, it stumbles extremely bad. I can get it to start by turning it over multiple times and it finally catches, or I can bleed the fuel rail manually while someone is cranking it and it will start. After that it runs fairly well, but the transmission shifts hard going into higher gears and then shifting down.

Could someone help get me started with this? It would be greatly appreciated.

    Posted the Info Log below.

You need to post the log and tune file. Log of cranking and it running and the current tune it's running on.

If "bleeding" the rail makes it fire right up then you might want to put a pressure gauge on it and see if the pump and regulator are bad. It should build and hold pressure. The amount of held pressure will vary depending on the regulator, but pressure should immediately build to 58ish psi and hold around that for a little while after key off. Almost sounds like your regulator is bad.

    2011 Vette Cam Only Internal Mod in stock LS3 -- YSI @ 18psi - 811rwhp on 93 / 926rwhp on E60 & 1008rwhp with a 50 shot of nitrous all through a 6L80

Yeah no telling what it is without a data log. Could be multiple sensors unplugged or not reading correctly. Unplugged ECT would cause it to be super rich on start-up.

Current tune is what ever the factory tune was for that year model with a 6.2 and DOD. Is there a way to obtain that tune using HPT to load it here?

I will check the fuel pressure and regulator this week and report back, I do not think there is an issue as the engine installer told me the pressure to the rails is correct, that it needs to be tuned to start easily. However I understand that it is hear say and I will have an accurate reading myself.

I will check on everything, get a data log from key on to initial start up, and report back. I appreciate the advice on where to start.
