    2015 Silverado 5.3 WT

80k on the used quadcab has a misfire on 5 been driving fine for the last 3 weeks from the time I inherited the truck

While driving on the highway today the dash lights, radio everything seemed as if it died for a brief second with an instant flicker back to life so I continued my trip to the store where I parked it. I returned to the truck 20 minutes later to it not responding to key on in the ignition until the second try after opening the hood and checking everything over. When it did restart the radio held its settings and returned to the station it was on but the check engine light was gone like the ecm had reset so I am puzzled. I will continue to try and google gen v problems I would love some help maybe something known?!

Sounds like this relay is bad:

That would be the textbook diagnosis and it randomly decided to restart no issues, I doubt it is a relay. I'll be checking all the grounds over I just dont want to have to take my dash apart. No workaround on that ground? I should have mentioned that one day it decided to blink the dash lights and gave a few warnings one including stabilitrak all within a second and stopped. These trucks are known for electrical issues. These symptoms have yet to be resolved on these trucks?

Don't remember what year models it was, but some of the newer ones (was thinking 18 or newer) have issues with the ground strap going from the frame to the body in the right wheel well "passenger front" area especially if it was a northern vehicle. The chemical solution gets into those woven straps and eats out the connections at the eyelets. Radio issues are usually first, then tcm, cluster, electric steering and brake control module codes follow. You should be able to watch module voltage with a different kind of OE scan tool while turning the wheel and running the electrical loads if that's the problem and watch voltage drop out.

I have been so busy with life I ended up putting this truck in the shop for someone else to fix it. Ended up being an injector issue so they say after their phone call I got today saying it was fixed. This is the first time I've let somebody work on one of my vehicles in nearly a decade!

The loss of power issue was also resolved when I looked over the negative battery post connection. When I clean the oxidization off of it previously and tightened it I did not realize it was at its tightest and could not tighten any further onto the post. I resolved this issue on my other truck by taking some of the material out in between so that it could travel further but this terminal will require replacement as it is cheaper than the previous design.
