Hey all, new to the tuning world with HPTuners. Ive only ever dabbled in Holly terminators or hondata/ktuned for civics. This is my first personal LS build and experience with HPTuners. I'll get right to it then...
Full build is nicknamed "spare parts". everything done was off one of my shop shelves, the junkyard or someone else's spare shit sitting around their garage.
5.3 lc9 block, stock rods and pistons. 243 heads, no machine work just BTR springs and valves. Cathedral Port intake from a 2006? i believe with stock injectors. Patriot shorty headers, no cats, full 2.5 exhaust to x pipe to 2-1 muffler. dod/afm deleted. And the funny part, 211/230 cam from an lsx(it was brand new with 0 miles and i got it for pennies on the dollar, so why the hell not). i know why the hell not but here i am.
i built this motor with intentions of acquiring an LSA super charger for it, but my daily driver decided to play games so i had to get this one running while i rebuild my passat. seeing as the motor was complete and in the truck, i shipped my e67 out and had it flashed. chassis is a 2008 colorado. e67 is flashed to a 2009 colorado 5.3 base. previously had the motor running on an e67 from a 2008 saab 9-7x. with the colorado base, she wouldnt run so i changed the map/maf tables to the ones from the saab tune. a few small adjustments and shes been purring like a kitten. i have about 600 miles of drive time on the motor but im averaging 12 miles to the gallon highway. i understand my cam is not the right choice to run n/a but it is what it is and i believe i should still be able to dial it in to achieve a bit better fuel mileage when cruising highway. im very green to the tuning world of LS base motors. I understand enough that ive gotten this far with it. I will attach my data log from yesterday mornings drive. theres a long spot of idle in the first 15 minutes of it from when i ran into the gas station for some coffee and smokes, so skip over that if reviewing. i will also attach my current tune to this.
im pretty sure my mass air flow tables are wrong which could be causing my bad fuel consumption. also im looking to advance my ignition timing a coupe degrees to make up for the cam thats in her but im hesitant to do so without proper guidance. if anyone could review my data and possibly point me in the right direction id very much appreciate it. ill answer any and all questions needed to push this along. thank you in advance if you took the time to read this or check over my files.
it will not allow me to upload my data log and i dont understand why.
