    Eating converters 6L80

I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, I can't find the threads to help me. So don't bash me too hard. If someone could post the links, I would be very grateful. We have been doing the HP Tunes rescheduling the lock up and disabling the DOD on our 6 and 8 speed GM units with great results. My builder uses the transgo or superior kits on his builds for the pump and valve body. However, 1 or 2 out of every 10 will come back with a converter shutter. and usually swapping out the converter only, will eliminate the issue. But we have a few that we have replaced the converter 3 or 4 times in a 12 month span. I feel like we are missing something either on the tune or on the build that might be the root of this problem. I am asking for any assistance with this before I pull out the rest of my hair. Thanks guys and Merry Christmas

Get a converter company that uses woven carbon lining in their converters and your problems will go away.

I will check on the TCC channels, I'm almost positive he is. As for brands of converters. We have used several but the best ones so far come from Florida Converters. They seem to have less issues that all the others we have used.

Also, we see repeat failures here at the dealer because of junk getting into the cooler or stuck in the lines and it makes its way back to the trans. Always at least flush the lines when you replace the converter and replace the filter at the minimum. I would also do the cooler thermostat bypass also. The new part number is set up to open at 140-145 deg, to help with killing the converter.
