    Questions about KR

I was wondering how much KR is acceptable, obviously in an ideal world youd want 0, but my car seems to pull timing in the higher gears, and not in the lower gears. Also does Traction control events count towards the KR on the scanner? Ill attach a log of a few WOT hits, it spun pretty bad on the 2-3 shift, even with TC on. But as you can see it starts knocking in 4th a little bit. (i started in 2nd) I might be insane, but i swear this car has always been super inconsistent, and these runs felt slower than a "good" run. It also made more boost than it ever has somewhere in this log, 10.5psi peak on my AEM. AFR was 10.9-11.3 every time i glanced at it. (car gets pretty busy pretty quick so I cant look at it the whole time) I really need to figure out how to get my wideband to log. Also was wondering about Dynamic airflow and WOT. It seems my Dynamic very closely matches my Volumetric efficiency rather than my MAF lb/min, and its my understanding the computer should prioritize MAF readings at WOT, my VVE isnt tuned up top at all, so im curious. all 3 values are always pretty close though. Also assuming im correct in assuming that the computer uses both maf and VVE as factors towards creating the "dynamic airflow" value, then uses the dynamic value to run the car.

Id be getting some knock ears and confirming this is genuine knock.
Especially under boost, any actual knock will destroy things quick.

In relation to the MAF/VVE, take a look at cringers post/video, its pretty informative.

Yeah Ive been using actually, that exact thread to dial in my MAF and VVE, I dont have reasonable access to ears, as I dont have access to a Dyno, Im thinking about just lowerering the timing and making a hit to see if it still occurs, if it does id assume its fair to consider it false knock. Whats strange to me is the tuner on the dyno did all the pulls in 4th gear, and thats the only place that detecting KR

For sure, pull a heap out across the board and test, I haven’t got my laptop to see the log again but as long as your fueling (wideband) is accurate. I’d guess fueling isn’t the issue

What's the combo? Fuel? Spark plugs?

I'd pull a couple degrees just based on the boost level.

It?s on 93 pump gas and br7ef plugs. Car usually only makes 8psi but with the cold weather it?s made a peak of 10.4. I believe it?s set for 15 or 16 degrees in the cells it?s getting KR

The one event at the end of the pull is enough to warrant some timing being pulled. Else little blips here and there are no issue. You don't want anything consistent or repeatable. The only time you'll have one with 0 knock retard is one with bad knock sensors.

Yes, it's showing 16.5. That's about 2-3 degrees too much for my taste at that boost level, and compression. And it looks like your recovery table is set too high. Just by the way the KR is cycled back out so quick.

Yeah looks like ill have to pull some out in those cells, problem is.. its hitting the same cells in every gear, is there any reasonable way to have the more aggressive timing through third for example, as its not detecting knock, and pull it out through 4th? Cell im looking at is .96 cyl airmass and 5200RPM. Youd think the airmass would be differant at wot for each gear.
