2008 chevy Half Ton vin change help

I have a 2008 Chevy Truck That had a ECM that was faulty. I put a 2007 ecm in the truck and deleted the vats along with some other assorted tune modifications. Now the truck wont even crank over. I'd assume that the vin then needs to be changed to cooperate with the BCM but it does not allow me to adjust it back to the original VIN, What do I need to do here?

2007 and 2008 use different service numbers, that is not going to ever work.

The way to do this if you don't have the dealer-type hardware to flash Gen 4s is to get the service number off the original ECM, go to ebay, and search for that number plus the phrase 'programmed-to-your-vin', or '[servicenumber]+programmed+-not-programmed'.

The way I had it fixed was the truck had to go to a dealership and had the new ecm reflashed for the orginal vin and serial number then had to buy credits for that vin to wright the new tune, it was an expensive way to do it but lesson learned.
