Can you get 98% performance without wide band o2 sensors and HP tuner?

    I have a vette with a 224/224 114 cam/headers .

A friend says he can tune my car with hp tuner but he doesn't want to hook up a wide band 02.

He says he can tune on the road without doing that.

Can I get better drivability, part throttle with his efforts or should I suggest we use a wideband 02 sensor?

    Thanks in advance.

you can get the drivability pretty good without a wideband...one of the few things that you cannot do is wot fueling, & just fueling in general without one which sometimes can be a key.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

type in WOT Tuning. I will be just about every post has someone saying "get a wide band" before you tune that. Can it be done without one, yes. Will it be safe, NO.

98% performance, no. 98% drivability, probably. As mentioned above there is no reliable way to tune WOT without a wide band.
