    2009 V8 Canyon, 6L90 swap

I have the mechanical things sorted, but now need to figure out how to get the 6l90 wired in and talking to the e67 and bcm.

I've heard many different "should" answers to this, but am looking for a definite answer.

Do I need the t42 involved?
Will I lose my gauges if I don't use the t42?
    VIN programming required?

    2009 GMC Canyon 4x4 5.3, 6L90 with new t43 programmed as a 2009 Silverado, NP241c with vss.

To answer this for anyone in the future:
No, t42 can be tossed and you will retain all functions if wires correctly.
Vin programming not required, at least for me.

I am doing the same swap in a 2012. So if I understand your post correctly, If I installed a 6l80 with a 2012 techm and 2012 calibration it will work fine with the 2012 E67?

Yep, if all years are the same it should all work correctly. Do your homework on the wiring, I hope you have a 2wd truck!
